Barack Obama: Born in Kenya?

It’s no secret that Breitbart.com has been on a mission to properly vet the candidate Barack Obama for the 2012 presidential election, but they released another sensational piece of information today that really shines a harsh light on this guy that even the blindest of ideologues are going to have a tough time ignoring.

OBAMA LIT AGENT SHOCKER: ‘BORN IN KENYA AND RAISED IN INDONESIA AND HAWAII’

I’m not going to bother reprinting any of the article here, you can read it easily enough yourself by clicking the link. However, what I would like to offer is the observation that once again, Barack Obama has demonstrated that his version of the “truth” is a thing of convenience. Straight along, we’ve been told this man was born in Honolulu, and despite the circus surrounding things like Obama’s birth certificate, talk of multiple social security numbers, and most recently, the discovery that one of the female characters  in his book Dreams of My Father, was just that… A ["composite"] CHARACTER, I personally try to eschew the “conspiracy theory stuff”, for the simple fact there’s plenty of other fodder for the cannon where this guy is concerned.

Yes, if this man was in fact born in Kenya, that is indeed an outrage. There should be a complete investigation into how something like this could happen, and the guilty should be exposed for the world to see. I can’t say enough about how incensed I am at the idea this kind of scam could be perpetrated against The American People and The Constitution of The United States, HOWEVER… Now is not the time for this because that ship has already sailed and the man’s already in office. Digging back into that messy old closet again is going to bore people (what a terrible thing to have to admit given the magnitude of the possibilities), and like I said, there are plenty of other obvious shortcomings in this man’s character to remain focused on. Like the constant lying.

Kenyan or not, he was either lying then, or he’s lying now, but either way, he seems way too comfortable doing it. That alone is good enough to identify an unfit leader. How can you lead a people if they don’t even know when, or if, you’re even telling the truth?

The Covenant

So, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with this blog now that I’m kinda given up on the whole syndicating content thing. Other feeds look like crap, at least, the ones who carry information I think worth regurgitating, and I just don’t have the time it takes to give it it’s due… While I’m figuring it out, I’m just going to be making some observations about talk radio as the day goes on, and first up is Beck with this discussion this morning he had with an author (I didn’t catch his name), who just wrote a book about The Founding of our Nation and it’s formation under a covenant with God, which was extended from ancient Israel to The United States.

Some of us were already sounding the shofar…

Wow! Talk about insulting…

Okay, so I said my piece with regard to the whole syndication thing in my last post, but today I’m sitting here listening to Glenn go on an absolute tear about whether or not the truth even matters anymore, (speaking specifically as it pertains to everyone’s favorite squaw of the moment, Elizabeth Warren), while on the other hand I’ve got domainsbyproxy.com still breathing down my neck because a forwarded copy of my capitulatory e-mail to theblaze.com isn’t good enough. It has to be an ORIGINAL…

WHATEVER. And that is exactly the response I gave to domainsbyproxy.com. I mean, I suppose they’re doing their job, but all they have to do is look at the damn site and they can see that the contents of my e-mail are legitimate. The truth? How about some common fucking sense for once?

What a shame, and how completely ironic. I’m listening to Glenn Beck going off about getting the truth out, and all I did was try to help. I double checked my Google Adsense figures, and I’ve made exactly $2.51 on the content I syndicated from theblaze.com.

Hey Lisa, e-mail me a PO Box and I’ll send you a fucking check.

The Trials and Tribulations of The Truth

truthgun.com HUH?Yikes, what a few weeks for the site! For probably more than a year, I just ignored this site completely. And I mean, COMPLETELY. For starters, when I initially designed truthgun.com, I didn’t choose the best layout, and the syndication feed was stacking the new post categories so high they nearly occupied the entire top of the landing page. One would have to scroll down the page to even read the first new articles. Even worse, there was a featured image carousel that required daily maintenance, which I eventually got tired of so I just let it go. The whole thing got to the point where it was pretty much like a car that broke down on the side of the road, and because web technology moves so fast, rather than rebuild something “old”, I generally opt to start over from scratch on something “new”, utilizing what I learned on the last go around as a starting point.

Anyway, rather than formally shut the site down, I just left it up with some Google Ads, in the hope of adding a couple more bucks (literally) to my aggregate Google income, but one day when I went to do a software update, I discovered the site had been hacked and malware installed. By this time, Google had already flagged the site as malicious, but fortunately it was a common script and easy to spot. I cleaned it up, and decided to go ahead and give the whole thing a face-lift, utilizing the current design you see now. Well, from there, I started actually paying attention, and the thing actually started doing some respectable numbers. Nothing huge mind you, I mean we’re talking maybe 150 unique users max on any given day, but not bad for an unknown such as myself, and the truthgun name.

After experimenting with a lot of different feeds from sites I read on a regular basis, it turned out that content which I was syndicating from theblaze.com populated the site BEAUTIFULLY. I mean, it was really outstanding how the images and formatting translated and presented in just a fantastic manner. Moreover, with no weighty, featured content carousels to deal with, the thing just purred on it’s own for at least a month with the new design. But alas, like all good things, this too would soon come to an end…

Just as the site started enjoying some decent traffic, I received a notice from domainsbyproxy.com, alerting me to the fact that a complaint had been lodged against truthgun.com by someone at theblaze.com for copyright infringement. Apparently, because I was syndicating their content exclusively, and only occasionally posting myself, I was in violation of… whatever…

Personally, I’m a big fan of theblaze.com (otherwise why would I syndicate their content?), and Glenn Beck in general, but I can’t help but see a little irony in the fact that I’ve heard Glenn quote some variation of what most likely originated as,

“The way to get things done is not to mind who gets the credit.”

~Benjamin Jowett, 1817-1893 English Clergyman, Educator & Classicist Quoted in John Gross, The Oxford Book of Aphorisms

If I was making gobs of money, or somehow using this site to promote myself in any way (every article and link went back to theblaze.com), I could see their beef, but I wouldn’t have thought they’d miss the hundred and fifty or so people I might get on a given day, especially when considered in conjunction with the greater good being done in reaching those additional folks who don’t even realize the “real source” of the content they’re taking in. With a little luck, maybe I was even reaching a few people who would normally dismiss Beck and his offshoots, site unseen, based on malformed opinons alone.

It’s funny, people often pay good money to have “feeder sites” built, which are basically cardboard storefronts designed to direct traffic to their main entity. Here I am giving theblaze.com one for free, and even serving as admin for it, and they send me a letter telling me to cut the crap. One that cost me $20, because apparently that’s how much domainsbyproxy.com feels it costs them to send me an e-mail alerting me to the problem.

The truth may not have an agenda, but it sure can be a pain in the ass.
